ID Update

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we implement the new ID system. The end of the first week has seen improvement in the efficiency of check in/check out as well as the number of individuals remembering to use their ID daily.

A few questions have been raised about additional IDs. Please reference the information below:

• Each family will be issued up to maximum of 6 IDs per household (beyond student IDs). These are limited to 2 parents, 2 drivers, and 2 caregivers. 

• To request a badge for a grandparent, step-parent, or family member who regularly handles caregiving duties (e.g., routine drop-off/pick-up), submit an application under Badge Services on the ACS Amman App. Include the reason in the "Additional Details" section. Requests must fit within the family’s maximum badge limit.

• ACS reserves the right to query requests for badges within the maximum if the rationale is unclear. Said another way, if a family already has two parent badges, a driver badge and a caregiver badge and requests a badge for an extended family member, the school will reach out. We understand that there can be clear reasons for this need. We also understand that sometimes this additional badge is a “want” and not a need. 

• Family members, drivers, and care givers needing access but exceeding the family maximum may enter as guests. 

• Small babies/toddlers that are not yet school age need no ID when entering with a parent.

• Siblings attending other schools who need access for pick up/drop off can be signed in as guests. 

• Alumni, who are invited to visit campus for events and by appointment (during the day) can also sign in as guests. None “entry” badges requested by Alumni as an artifact of their time with ACS will happily be granted.

• Family badges, often issued in the past, will not be created for extended family members. Individuals who wish to attend occasional events (eg: concerts) as all such individuals can enter as guests. 

We understand that parents traveling in the past relied on extended family for caregiving and, for this reason, requested additional ID cards. To help us maintain the safety, security and protection of all students, we request parents who will travel to contact the sectional assistant in advance to share: travel dates, name of temporary guardian, his/her phone number and relationship of the guardian. In turn, a temporary guest badge will be made available to this individual through the length of the guardianship.

Please take a moment to review and update your family’s demographic details in PowerSchool to ensure our records are accurate.

How to update:

1. Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

2. On the left menu, click Forms.

3. Select the Update Demographic Information form.

4. Review your details and make any necessary corrections—please ensure you include an active local Jordanian phone number.

5. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.

Campus Facilities Access weekend of August 14 and 15

ACS facilities (field, playground, pool, and upper gym) are open during non-student times for ACS badge holders only (no outside guests).

• Facilities close at 8:00 pm.

• No food or drink allowed. Please respect the space and clean up after use.

Pool Access (Family Swim)

• Saturdays: 10:00–11:30 am and 12:00–1:30 pm (Sign-up)

• Mondays 3:15–4:15 pm

• Wednesdays: 3:15–4:15 pm
