Ms. Michelle Alzamora
Dear Families,
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent parent survey we shared in the WGO! While the number of responses was relatively small, we value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
Understanding Your Child's Progress
One of the most frequent responses from parents was a desire for more detailed information on how your child is progressing academically. We hear you!
To address this, next school year we'll be piloting a program of end-of-unit feedback for math. After each completed math unit, you'll receive explicit feedback about how your child did in the unit. Based on your feedback and the program's effectiveness, we may also expand end-of-unit reports to include literacy units in the future.
Strengthening Communication: Parent Conferences
The survey results on parent conferences were mixed. We're committed to ensuring these meetings are informative and valuable for all. We will explore ways to improve the conference experience.
A Safe and Happy School Environment
On a positive note, we were thrilled to see that a large majority of respondents indicated their child feels safe and enjoys coming to school. This is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated teachers and staff who strive to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
We are committed to ongoing communication and transparency. Stay tuned for further updates on our efforts to enhance parent involvement and keep you informed on your child's academic journey throughout the year!
Thank you again for your valuable feedback!
Yours,
Michelle

Chances are your child's emotions fluctuate quite often! Over time, this may make you feel stuck as a parent around how to support your child and yourself in addressing emotional outbursts. It is taxing work.
To possibly help, we've added another tool to our ES Counseling Website - Check out these Tools to Try posters you can print and hang in your home to remind yourself and family members that there are tools you can use. The tools are best used together, as a family - not just for the kids!
We are here and happy to support you if you have any questions or would like to discuss ways to create a calmer home environment.
