Ms. Molly Nielsen
Dear MS Families,
We are in the final 2.5 weeks of school! As we wrap up the school year, these two weeks will likely feel a little busier and more stressful for your child as end-of-year assessments and final projects ramp up. Please continue to support your child in creating to-do lists, managing distractions (including games and phone use) while completing homework, and getting plenty of sleep. If your child is struggling, please encourage them to contact their teacher or Ms. Martinez for support and action planning.
Thank you to all who completed the community survey and provided valuable feedback. The MS is committed to growing and improving. Communication around learning is our most significant area of focus, and we are implementing plans to address this during the 24-25 school year. Before each unit, teachers will share a unit cover sheet with parents via email. The unit cover sheet will share a big-picture overview of the unit your child is starting. It will give you an idea of the significant concepts, content, assessments, and pacing. Teachers will also send an email after the completion of each unit letting you know grades have been updated in PowerSchool. Based on your feedback, we will continue to tinker with our ability to provide more real-time information for parents to stay current on student learning. Our most significant area for celebration was that most families reported that their children felt safe and enjoyed being at ACS and had a deep appreciation for our faculty and staff.
Thank you again to those of you who completing the survey so that we can work to address your feedback.
Finally, a special note for our Grade 8 parents. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing you on June 3 at 6:00 pm for the Moving Up Ceremony. This is a significant milestone in your child's academic journey, and we are excited to share this moment with you. Please note that we will be live-streaming and recording the event. We will share the livestream details via email with all Grade 8 families closer to the event date.
Warmly,
Molly
Please note that we will not have ASAs on May 29th due to graduation. All of the school buses will be used for the graduation ceremony in Jerash
PACES Field Day Event - POSTPONED
We regret to inform you that the field day event planned for May 25 has been postponed to late September or October next school year. Our partners at PACES, whose involvement is essential for the planned activities, are unable to participate this May. We are committed to ensuring a complete and enjoyable experience for everyone involved and believe a postponement is the best course of action.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your enthusiastic participation next year. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility.
