Ms. Joelle Basnight
Earlier this week the Prime Minister announced that this year’s Labor Day (May 1) holiday will be commemorated on Thursday, May 2nd. As such, we will shift the school holiday from Wednesday to Thursday. This makes a five day long-weekend, as May 5 and 6 are already days off for Orthodox Easter. The day rotation originally assigned for May 2nd will now simply shift to May 1st.
This year’s community survey closes on April 25th. If you have not already completed it and would like to offer some feedback, please click here to complete the survey - one per family. You will begin the survey by answering some questions from your family’s perspective and, then, will have the opportunity to answer more specific questions for each of your children within the single survey. A summary of the results of this survey will be shared with the community in May and school personnel will use the results to support planning for the future.
The architectural firm of CSDA was on campus this week meeting with focus groups and learning about our campus. If you were unable to attend any of the meetings and would still like to offer feedback please email me directly with your thoughts on one or both of these guiding questions:
What spaces on our current campus might be challenging and/or missing?
If you could wave a magic wand and our campus was exactly where you would want it to be in 5 years, what might look different?

On Saturdays, ACS community parents, students, and staff are welcome to use the pool during two different periods: from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and/or from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. To ensure a proper ratio of swimmers to lifeguards, we require each family member interested in using the pool on Saturdays to be included in the sign-up sheet. The first family to book will be served first. We are expecting up to 30 swimmers for each of the two Saturday periods.
On Mondays, the ACS community is welcome to use the pool from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This opportunity is open for parents, guardians, and students asking for more pool-quality time during weekdays. No sign-up sheet is needed for Mondays.
