Dr. Jeff Wilusz
Good Afternoon
The first week of school often feels like any other, but from the perspective of students and teachers, it can seem like the longest week of the year. However, we made it through with grace and style, and the weeks ahead will start to feel more routine.
On Monday, August 26th, we highly encourage you to attend the HS Back to School Night, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the theater. After some introductions, you'll have the opportunity to meet your children's teachers and discuss course expectations and content. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing parents face-to-face, reconnecting with many of you, and meeting some for the first time. We hope to see you there!
We ask that all parents sit down with their child to review their schedule for the first semester. Although we asked this of you at the end of last year, it's a good refresher and especially helpful for our new families. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Collings (9/10 Grade) or Ms. Kurdi (11/12 Grade).
Lastly, please remember to regularly read the WGO, monitor your child's progress on PowerSchool and Google Classroom, and don't hesitate to reach out to teachers or administrators with any questions or concerns. Reviewing the HS Family Handbook with your child is also a great way to get on the same page in regards to things like attendance and dress code. Additionally, we host High School Parent Chats once a month, and we would love to see you there to learn more about the inner workings of our school. Your involvement and partnership is key to your child's success!
Hello, and welcome back! We hope that everyone had a rejuvenating summer break. This week has been a whirlwind, and we’re so glad to see our students back on campus. On Monday, we welcomed our 27 new high school students on campus for New Student Orientation. High school students are joining us this year from the US, Canada, Jordan, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Norway, China, and more. Our 16 New Student Ambassadors, led by 4 students in a leadership position, did a fantastic job of planning and leading the event, and most importantly, giving a warm welcome to all of our new students.
Tuesday brought the arrival of all of our students back on campus. We know that air travel and arrival back in Jordan was a bit more challenging than usual for many families, but we’re so glad to see you all. You will get regular updates from the counselors in this space during the school year, but please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
