Dr. Jeff Wilusz
As we close out the final days of Assessment Week (Sunday/Monday), I want to highlight what’s ahead. Next week marks the culmination of a long year of hard work, growth, and community, and we’ve planned events to reflect and celebrate that journey.
Tuesday
Students will attend all classes in a condensed schedule (approx. 25 minutes each). The purpose: ensure all materials are returned and check-out forms, distributed that morning, are completed. Once the day wraps, students will return to their Cohorts to receive their yearbooks.
Wednesday
We begin with a high school potluck breakfast and take time to say farewell to students who won’t be returning to ACS next year. This moment is always bittersweet, as it is an international school reality that reminds us of how dynamic and global our community is. We’ll follow with our End-of-Year Assembly, recognizing students across subjects and Student Profile categories. The day concludes with time to connect, reflect, and sign yearbooks.
Thanks for your continued support this year. Let’s finish strong and send our students into summer on a positive note.
AP Summer Assignment
If your child is scheduled to take an AP class next year, they may have a summer assignment that needs to be completed prior to their arrival to school in August. Please make sure to have your child check the AP@ACS Amman website for all things AP to ensure that they will be ready for the upcoming school year.
Please note that if the Summer Assignment is not completed upon arriving at school in August, your child will be removed from the class.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the specific teacher of the AP class(es) your child is taking.
HS Assessment Week 2
June 1 - June 2 marks our formal Assessment Week, with final unit assessments administered across all subjects. This will be students' only scheduled opportunity to demonstrate their learning before the semester ends on June 4. Please note that early assessments will not be offered. Students who miss assessments during this window will likely have limited evidence for teachers to evaluate, which may impact their final grades. During Assessment Week, students will be dismissed at 11:35 a.m. each day. Transportation will be available for students who regularly ride the bus.
This week, juniors were involved in two sessions to get the ideas flowing for those college essays and personal statements. The aim of these sessions was to get them thinking about content, and they were encouraged to continue their work and finalize all essays over the summer. Ms. Kurdi will be happy to give feedback throughout the holiday to our rising seniors. Their senior year will be a super busy one, and the more they can get off their plates beforehand, the better!
Thanks to all the parents who attended the online sessions that addressed admissions in different parts of the world. The series of online presentations was designed to support Grade 11 families as they support their students through the college application process. The presentations were emailed to all Grade 11 families. If you didn’t receive the email, feel free to reach out to Ms. Kurdi.

Awards Banquet
This past week, ACS celebrated our student ambassadors for all of the things they do outside of the classroom, from music, theatre, athletics, and clubs. There was an impressive turnout of +300 guests that came together to celebrate and reflect on the year.
This event would not have been possible without our students, their families, staff/coaches, and, of course, our PTG Booster Club. Ms. Leen and the team fully raised and funded the entire evening. Thank you so much for bringing down the Jordanian night stars and sparkling our campus.
May 28 - June 2 - Assessment Week (School Dismissed at 11:35)
June 3 - Students Check out (all 8 classes)
June 4 - Last Day of School (Early Dismissal) / Semester 2 RC Distributed
