Dear MS Families,

Routines are up and running in Middle School! The 6th graders have learned their schedules, the 7th graders are transitioning into elevated expectations, and our 8th graders are taking on leadership roles to support others and our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Back To School Night. I hope you enjoyed learning more about the MS program, meeting your child's teachers, and engaging in meaningful conversations with our team and other middle school families. MAP Test Starts Next Week!

MAP is not an assessment that your child can study or prepare for. To help them do their best, please ensure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast. You can also help your child by not stressing about this testing experience. It is not a high-stakes assessment; the children have no reason to feel stressed about their performance. After all students have completed the tests, you will receive information about your child's performance on the MAP assessment. MAP Testing Schedule

Adventure Jordan

MS teams are preparing for Adventure Jordan, which is coming up very quickly at the end of September. To ensure your child feels ready for the trip, advisors will begin prepping children on what to expect. To do this, we will start unpacking the trip outcomes and trip logistics in the coming weeks. Please Save the Date for the AJ Parent Night scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, at 5:00 pm in the theater.

Counseling Corner - Ms. Martinez!

Last Call for Middle School Parenting Class Offering!

Join us starting September 3rd at 5:30 PM for a 6 week parenting class. Learn and practice parenting skills relevant to raising tweens/teens like how to build cooperation, support your child in solving their problems, and different types of consequences and how/when to use them.

Additionally, this is a great chance to build some connections with other middle school parents and grow together.

Auditions: The first wave of Auditions for the Play Production, “Matilda” also start next week. Ms. Pike and Ms. Cayer have sent out that information.

Starting September 16th- Session 1 of our ASAs (After School Activities) will begin. Registration on PowerSchool will open on August 20th and close August 27th.

Busing

If your HS child receives ACS busing transportation, they are also eligible for the HS Activities late bus which departs @ 4:45pm. Please see the Athletics and Activities page for more information.

Medical

Be sure to update your child’s medical information with the Health Office (Nurse Hiyam) and in PowerSchool.
