Ms. Molly Nielsen
Dear MS Families,
While the end of the semester is still a month away, time is starting to pick and move in middle school. To support your child in managing end-of-semester expectations, each grade level has created an assessment calendar that outlines assessment dates in one central location. Your child’s advisor will review the assessment calendar with your child several times a week to ensure they know what’s coming up. Please understand that this is a living document, and it will continue to be updated and edited as we make our way through the final weeks of the school year. We also hope this calendar is supportive of you in helping your child manage their time outside of school and meet upcoming deadlines. Please scroll down on the document to find your child’s grade level calendar.
Supporting the Sugar Dash
This week the MS came out to support the annual Sugar Dash. The Sugar Dash is a student and parent led initiative to build awareness about Diabetes. Middle School students showed up in full force to take on the challenge, learn about diabetes, and support their peers. Thank you to the members of our community who take on this meaningful project each year.
Please enjoy a few photos from our MS ASA Flag football students vs Teachers Flag Football Scrimmage. Thank you to all the staff, parents, and students who showed up to support this event!

Dear Middle School Parents,
We are thrilled to invite your child to participate in an incredible opportunity to attend the ISTA Drama Festival in Abu Dhabi from January 31 to February 2, 2025. This festival is one of ISTA’s renowned events, offering young people an immersive, multi-day theatre experience in dynamic cities worldwide. ISTA festivals are built on story-based inquiry and encourage participants to develop collaboration skills while growing as global learners.
This year’s theme, “The space between people and cultures: understanding and bridging cultural differences, fostering empathy, and promoting cross-cultural dialogue,” will allow students to explore theatre as a means of understanding diverse perspectives. At ISTA, we believe that sharing stories from various cultures and settings fosters a powerful approach to global learning and self-expression. Through this creative process, students are empowered to explore theatre, themselves, and each other in a unique, inclusive environment.
To secure a spot, parents must complete both the financial commitment form and the information form by Monday, November 18. Spaces are limited, and final acceptance will be based on an interview with Ms. Pike.
We hope your child will join us for this enriching and transformative experience. Please let us know if you have any questions or need further information.
Sincerely,
Ms. Claudia Pike
Our Arabic E& F students embarked on an inspiring field trip to the 1001 Inventions Museum! They explored remarkable inventions and mechanical marvels created by Arab pioneering scholars, including the clock, the astrolabe, and the compass, among many others.
This hands- on experience offered our students a unique glimpse into the Arab history of innovation, sparking their curiosity and deepening their appreciation for the contributions of scientists across time and cultures.
