Ms. Molly Nielsen
Dear MS Families,
MAP Scores Posted
Please note that Fall 24-25 MAP scores are now posted in Powerschool. Thank you to those of you who attended the MAP parent chat last week. The recording from that session is linked for you on the main page of the WGO. If you have any questions about your child’s MAP scores, please reach out to your child’s teachers or MS administrators.
Engineering Spotlight
This week, we are highlighting our middle school engineers! Engineering is an elective option that allows students to solve problems and build prototypes that move, fly, and stand. Students use real-life engineering examples and science to help them design and build the most effective prototype to solve the problem they'll investigate. This week, their learning culminated in a bridge challenge. This challenge asked students to design bridges that could withstand a progressive weight test. Many student bridges exceeded their original weight goals; one bridge held up to 55 kg!
MS Parent Teacher Conferences
We look forward to seeing you next Thursday in the Green Room from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The teachers are very excited to celebrate your child’s achievements and identify goals/next steps with you.
As you prepare for this conversation here are some helpful questions to bring with you:
How does my child engage in class discussions and activities?
Does my child complete assignments on time? Are there patterns of missing or late work?
How can we support my child’s learning at home?
How does my child respond to constructive feedback from teachers?
How does my child interact with peers during class?
What communication methods (email, phone, etc.) work best for updates or concerns?
Warmly,
Molly
