Ms. Joelle Basnight
At their November meeting, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the updated Identity and Mission statements and related School Values. This approval is the culmination of months of effort from across the school community - over 350 who submitted the survey, over 50 who attended listening sessions, over 20 who participated in a half day retreat as well as hours of thought, reflection and (re)drafting on the part of the School Leadership and Board of Trustees.
Here are the updated and approved statements, in use effective immediately:

Counseling Team Providers’ Breakfast
The ACS Counseling Team was excited to welcome other international school counselors and local community providers to our annual Providers' Breakfast. This gathering is always a welcome opportunity for local community providers to share about their target populations and expertise, and for international school counselors to connect and discuss best practices. This year, we had the opportunity to connect with school counselors from ICS, King's Academy, Whitman Academy, IAA, and more. We also welcomed local community providers such as independent clinical psychologists, Maria Den Braven Center, Mind Clinic, Irada, and more. This is a unique opportunity in Amman that we always look forward to hosting.
Exciting News from KG Art
Our Kindergarten students have just completed their annual Eric Carle-inspired art project, this year celebrating the endangered species of Wadi Dana Biosphere Reserve! To share their creativity and support environmental care, their vibrant cutouts will be featured on gift wrapping paper, wall calendars, and pocket-sized 2025 diaries (pre-orders now open)! These items will be available for purchase tomorrow at the Helping for the Holidays Market at school. All proceeds will go directly toward supporting the Wadi Dana Biosphere Reserve, helping to protect its wildlife and habitats.
