Ms. Joelle Basnight
Many thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the draft annual calendar options. The team considered the input, made changes to a final draft and sent that forward to the board. The board voted unanimously to approve this calendar for 2025/26.
For those interested, the following impacted the final draft put forward.
An earlier start/earlier end to support SAISA Season One and AP exams as well as even semesters. In the end, the educational upside of this choice edged out the preference some had for a later start date in the fall. While perhaps not ideal for some in terms of timing, the holiday still affords a ten week break for students in the summer.
A shorter February break, with the day off on Sunday, allowed individuals to prepare for Ramadan while giving a full week off for Eid Al Adha. This means that most lunar holidays can flex within the time already given should dates shift.
You may have noticed an increased presence of security personnel in the parent parking lot at drop off. After fielding multiple complaints about cars blocking the lot driveway, our security is now on hand to wave people along. Please support us by driving/dropping your child in the car lanes and only entering the parking lot if you wish to park (in a spot) and help your child get into school.
