Ms. Michelle Alzamora
Dear ES Families,
In times of challenge, the strength of our school lies in the way we show up for one another. Whether your family is maintaining your daily routine at home or you are among those in our community who have recently faced the stress of evacuation and displacement, please know that ACS remains your home and your support system.
We are committed to providing a sense of stability and care for every student, regardless of their current circumstances. For those navigating the uncertainty of new environments, we want to remind you that you remain a vital part of our community. Our resources, our counseling team, and our care for your children's well-being do not stop at the school gates.
Supporting Your Children This Week:
For all families: Maintaining a sense of routine and open dialogue is key. You can find guidance on navigating difficult conversations on our Elementary Counseling and through this UNICEF resource.
For those displaced: Our counseling team is available for virtual check-ins and support to help your children process these transitions. Please reach out to Ms. Nadine or Ms. Hayley so we can stay connected with you.
Community is defined by our shared care for our children, not just our physical location. We are here for you, we are thinking of you, and we are one ACS family.
With care and solidarity,
ES Admin and Counselors
We are writing to provide an update regarding our After-School Experience Programs (AEP). All ES programs are scheduled to resume this coming Sunday, March 8.
Outdoor Activities: Scheduled outdoor activities will proceed as planned.
Safety Protocols: To ensure the highest level of safety, we have established a proactive "Shelter in Place" protocol. Should the need arise, all students and instructors will immediately transition to the Cafeteria for supervision.
Pick-up: Standard pick-up procedures remain in place unless otherwise notified via our emergency communication channels.
Our instructors remain committed to providing a safe and engaging environment for our students. Thank you for your continued support.
Building a resilient community also means looking toward our future together. We remain excited to welcome our incoming ES Principal, Ruth Poulsen, to our campus this spring. This visit is a wonderful opportunity to share our school’s unique spirit with her and hear about her vision for leadership.
When: Tuesday, March 31
Time: 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM
Where: Room 104
We look forward to this chance to gather, connect, and continue building the future of ACS ES together.

The Learning Commons invites you to watch the following Book Talks:
Ready, set, READ! This month, we’re Marching into Reading with a colorful twist. Pick up a book, color in the genre on your sheet, and trade it in for a charm!
How many can you collect? Let’s get reading!
Looking for another series to start? Try these fantasy short chapter books. Great for students in first and second grade who are ready for something more challenging.
Please do not worry about library late notices if your family is departing the country over the next few days. We want to ensure your focus remains on a smooth transition, so if you receive an automated message from the Learning Center (LC) while you are away, please feel free to ignore it until your return.
Our team is currently updating our records to reflect student departures. While it may take us a few days to finalize that list in our system, rest assured that we are pausing these expectations for our traveling families.
Also, please remember that the Sora Reading App and Epic! is available no matter where you are! You can access our full collection of eBooks and audiobooks by signing in with your school email. It’s a great way to keep reading on a phone or tablet while on the go.
Please contact us if you have any questions. Safe travels!
