Ms. Michelle Alzamora
Dear Families,
As we enter this week of American Thanksgiving, it is a wonderful time to pause and reflect on gratitude. At ACS, we talk with students about noticing the good around them, appreciating the people who support them, and recognizing simple moments of joy in their day. These practices help build empathy, optimism, and a strong sense of community.
In classrooms across the Elementary School, students are sharing what they are thankful for, highlighting how kindness and connection shape their daily experiences. Gratitude can be expressed in many ways, whether through a thoughtful word to a classmate, helping a friend, or celebrating something they accomplished.
You can support this at home by asking your child what they are grateful for, encouraging them to thank someone who made their day better, or taking a moment as a family to share something positive from the week. These small practices help children develop appreciation and strengthen emotional wellbeing.
During this week and always, we are grateful for the partnership of our ES families. Your support, communication, and involvement make a meaningful difference in your child’s learning and in the strength of our school community. Thank you for all the ways you encourage your child, stay connected with us, and contribute to a positive school experience for every student. We wish you a restful long weekend and hope you find moments of joy and connection with your family.
Warmly,
The ES Admin Team
Please note that we are continuing our previous rainy weather guidelines. We believe that outdoor play is essential for children's physical and mental health, so we want to provide opportunities for students to go outside as much as possible, even on rainy days.
To maximize outdoor play time, we ask that you please send your child to school with weather-appropriate gear, including:
Raincoat or poncho
Rain boots or waterproof shoes
Hat
We will only cancel outdoor recess if weather conditions are deemed unsafe, such lightning, thunderstorms, and extremely slippery surfaces.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us provide the best possible learning environment for your child.
