Mr. Billy Thomas
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to campus for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 19th. These meetings are a vital opportunity for us to partner together, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss specific goals for the remainder of the school year. We believe that the strongest support system for a Middle Schooler is a unified bridge between home and school, and these conversations are the foundation of that connection.
On the academic planning front, our course selection process for the 2026-27 school year is moving into an exciting phase. Our students are currently in the process of completing their 1:1 meetings with our school counselor to review their choices and discuss their personal learning goals. These individualized sessions ensure that every student feels heard and is placed in a program that both challenges and inspires them. It has been wonderful to see our Middle Schoolers taking such thoughtful ownership of their future academic paths!
Seventh-grade scientists are putting their knowledge of exothermic reactions to a practical test! As a culminating project, students are designing a device that uses chemical reactions to heat up a container of soup.
By testing different chemical combinations and precise ratios, students have been working to identify the "optimum" formula to reach the perfect temperature. It’s a fantastic example of the Engineering Design Process in motion - prototyping, testing, and refining for a real-world result.

Common Sense Carpool Conversations - A podcast series that invites adults and kids to talk about the issues that matter most in kids' digital lives.
You don't have to be a tech expert to give your kid life lessons about digital well-being. The purpose of the podcast is to start discussions in fun, authentic ways and to encourage sharing (including for the adults).
The questions might lead to deeper discussions—or not! Either way, the goal is to nurture empathy, lead with curiosity, and have ongoing conversations that acknowledge we're all in this together.
Two truths and a lie about healthiest tech habits (Grades 6-8)
Throughout the year we will share some resources / quick reads that we believe would be of interest to our MS Families
