Mr. Billy Thomas
We hope everyone had a great week and stayed warm in the weather. As we head into the next two weeks, we want to ask you to take a moment to celebrate your students' report cards and their amazing work last semester. In particular, please take a look at all of the teacher comments, as they provide praise and opportunity for growth for each student.
As we head into the second half of January, we have 2 dates we want to keep you aware of. The first is our course registration night on January 28th. Looking ahead to next year is an exciting process! This evening is essential information for parents, as we will review the various course options and the registration process to ensure everyone is set up for success in the coming school year. This night is for 6th and 7th grade parents only- grade 8 parents are invited to the High School presentation on January 19th.
Lastly, we will have our next Middle School social on January 29th. We encourage all our students to join us for a "Blast to the Past" themed social. It’s going to be a fantastic night of community building and school spirit, and we can’t wait to see the creative "throwback" looks our students come up with.
Our Middle School Arabic (Level E) students recently brought history to life through a vibrant "Living Museum," the grand finale of their Biographies unit. Stepping into the shoes of iconic figures from both ancient and modern times, each student impersonated a trailblazer who shaped Arab history - from visionary political leaders and peace advocates to groundbreaking scientists, athletes, architects, and poets. By embodying these legendary kings, inventors, and cultural icons, students showcased their advanced language skills while celebrating the enduring legacy of the Arab world’s most influential contributors.

PREPARING FOR SNOW DAYS
As we move into colder weather, we wanted to remind you of our Snow Day process.
If we are notified “last-minute,” there will be no learning expectations set for your children that day.
If we have advanced notice and/or if the snow day extends to multiple days, then Middle and High School students could expect the following:
Online learning from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., regular rotation schedule.
Teachers will post assignments and instructions on Google Classroom by 10:00 a.m., designed for students to work independently at their own pace or synchronously with the teacher present via Google Meet.
During their assigned teaching blocks, teachers will be available online to provide one-on-one support through email, Google Meet, or chat.
We recognize that not all families may be able to participate fully in online learning due to potential outages. Please prioritize your child’s well-being, and know that our counselors are available via email for support if needed.
