Mr. Billy Thomas
It has been an exciting week here in Middle School! We are so proud of our 15 Middle School theater students who are currently attending the prestigious International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) Festival in Italy! We have already received wonderful updates showing how fully engaged they are in collaborative workshops, performance creation, and deep cultural immersion. This journey is a powerful educational experience, allowing them to connect with students from diverse international schools, hone their craft, and truly embody the role of global citizens. We wish them continued safe travels, endless inspiration, and a truly unforgettable time creating powerful art and lasting memories abroad. We look forward to welcoming them back and hearing all about their adventures!
Mark your calendars! We are excited for the upcoming Middle School Fall Social on November 20th! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to unwind, socialize outside of the classroom, and strengthen the bonds within our student body. These community-building events are vital for creating a positive and connected school culture, and we encourage all students to participate in the fun. Tickets are available for purchase now in the Main Office. Please ensure your student secures their spot soon to enjoy an evening of music, games, and connection as we celebrate our vibrant Middle School community together!
Sixth-grade scientists just wrapped up their first unit of study on thermal energy transfer. The main challenge was to apply their new scientific understanding to design a functional cat shelter. They learned that layers and a door slow energy transfer, and that using a black coating allows the shelter to absorb the sun's energy and turn it into heat. Everyone achieved success and showed impressive engineering prowess!
