Ms. Joelle Basnight
This week brings us to the end of Academics 101 for parents with the episode of Understanding Instruction (5 min 47 sec). This series will be followed up with understanding our foundation documents and strategic plan… so stay tuned!
As everyone settles into the rhythm of the school year, a request to support everyone’s safety during busy times like pick up or drop off. Please note that ACS does not own the roadways around campus and this means that Jordanian speed limits apply. Yet, we ask that:
All drivers slow their speed when approaching campus, especially when turning into the road between the parking lot and campus,
That drivers dropping students in the covered parking lot pull all the way into a spot before stopping and,
That pedestrians remain in the designated walking lanes/crosswalks, whether walking to/from the entrance or when meeting drivers or rideshares.
Taken together, these steps keep us all safe during high traffic times. Thank you!
Please mark your calendar for the upcoming Student Parent Teacher Conferences on October 16th. The hours are 8 am to 6 pm and section principals will share more information about their schedules in the coming weeks. Please note that this is the day before our Fall Break and while traveling for one extra day may be enticing, we cannot schedule individual conferences with families during other dates to facilitate a longer break. We look forward to seeing you and your child(ren) at the conferences.
Making Waves at a National Event!
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our Grade 10 student, Aisha Abu Obeid, who competed in the National Jordan Swimming Federation Summer Championship.
This annual competition brings together swimmers from clubs across Jordan to compete in a variety of events, with hundreds of athletes participating. It serves as a key platform for evaluating performance, building competitive experience, and celebrating national-level talent.
Amidst this strong field, Aisha shined, earning two silver medals in the 100-meter Breaststroke and the 50-meter Breaststroke. Her dedication, discipline, and perseverance in the pool truly paid off at the national level.
Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! We look forward to seeing her continue to make waves in her swimming journey.

U19 Boys Soccer – fought hard and secured a 1–0 victory.
U19 Girls Volleyball – played with confidence, earning a 2–0 win.
