Ms. Ruth Poulsen
Dear Elementary Families,
When parents, teachers, and students work as a team, children build the strongest foundation for long-term success. A close home-school partnership creates a unified support system that nurtures both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. When elementary students see the important adults in their lives communicating and actively listening to them, it fosters a deep sense of security. Having a shared approach allows us to develop vital social-emotional skills—such as self-advocacy, personal responsibility, and resilience—right alongside essential growth in reading, math, and critical thinking.
Our upcoming conferences offer a wonderful opportunity to bring this partnership to life. Designed as goal-setting sessions, these collaborative meetings put your child at the heart of the conversation as they share their own goals for the school year. Rather than a traditional progress report, this format empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey while allowing parents and teachers to align on how to best support them. We look forward to gathering together as a team to celebrate your child’s voice, honor their aspirations, and chart a clear path for a successful year ahead.
When you come in for your conferences, please don’t forget to stop by my office: you’re all invited to have a cup of tea and get to know your new principal. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards,
Ruth Poulsen
