Dear Families,
Hello from Ruth Poulsen, your new Elementary Principal, and welcome back to a new school year! I am so excited to be here at ACS and in Jordan. This week, I have been going around to all the classes introducing myself to your children, and they have given me such a warm and enthusiastic welcome. It’s been great to have their energy and joy filling our hallways.
We’re excited to invite you to Back to School Night on August 19, at 5-7 pm!
This child-free evening is a chance for you to:
Meet your child’s teachers and get to know me, your new Principal
Learn more about our curriculum
Connect with other parents and staff
Families will begin in the theatre at 5 pm, to hear from me for a short time. Then you will move to your child’s homeroom class, with two homeroom sessions available so parents with more than one child can visit different classrooms. Parents will also have the chance to meet our specialist teachers. You can find the full schedule here.
Please note that Back to School Night is not intended for individual conversations about your child. Teachers are always happy to schedule a separate meeting with you if you’d like to discuss your child’s progress.
At ACS, we value building a strong partnership between home and school, and Back to School Night is one of the ways we can build that partnership! Come and connect. We know that when we’re on the same page at home and at school, that we will have a great year.

Faster Lunch Lines with New Student Badges!
Say goodbye to lost lunch money and long cafeteria queues! Our new student badges now double as a quick, contactless payment card for school meals.
To keep lines moving smoothly and give your child more time to sit down, eat, and relax, we strongly encourage pre-loading funds onto their badge in advance. Pre-loading money on the app is significantly faster and easier than sending cash with your child or having them waiting while Zain Cash and credit card payments process.
Download the ACS Amman App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and sign in with your family account. If you have trouble signing in, write to help@acsamman.edu.jo.
Select the green Payments button.
Select the gold Fill up your children's wallet option.
Enter the amount. You can split the total across multiple children if you'd like. Continue through to make the payment.
Please note that if the key fobs are lost, ES students, or the supervising adult, can type their name into the kiosks to tap in or out of campus while their backpack fob is being replaced.
If drivers come to pick up student backpacks because the student is going home with another family, the driver should NOT tap the student out of campus. The student should be physically present to be tapping in or out.
