Mr. Billy Thomas
A huge thank you to all the families who ensured their course selection forms were submitted to the Middle School office this past week. We are now moving into the next phase of our planning! In the coming weeks, our counselor will begin meeting one-on-one with students to review their forms and officially input their requests into our system. These individual touchpoints are a vital part of ensuring your child’s schedule aligns with their interests and academic goals.
As we continue to evolve and refine our Middle School experience, I want to hear directly from you. I invite you to sign up for our upcoming Parent Focus Groups and Listening Sessions. These conversations are instrumental in helping us identify what we’re doing well and where we can continue to improve. Click HERE to indicate your interest and your preference of virtual or in person sessions.
Finally, please join me in a huge round of applause for our 20 Middle School student-athletes who recently traveled to Chennai, India, and Muscat, Oman. Whether they were competing on the track or the soccer pitch, they represented the ACS Scorpions with incredible grit, sportsmanship, and pride. We are so proud of how they carried our school spirit across borders!
Last Thursday night, our Middle School hallways were filled with energy, laughter, and some seriously impressive dance moves! It was a joy to see students across all grades interacting, playing games, and simply enjoying each other's company.
A huge congratulations to our Student Council for their incredible hard work and organization; the night ran seamlessly thanks to your planning. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our teacher chaperones who gave up their personal time to ensure a safe and fun environment for everyone. Finally, a special thank you to Mr. Spencer and Mr. Chip for their unwavering support in making this event a standout success for our community.

PREPARING FOR SNOW DAYS
As we move into colder weather, we wanted to remind you of our Snow Day process.
If we are notified “last-minute,” there will be no learning expectations set for your children that day.
If we have advanced notice and/or if the snow day extends to multiple days, then Middle and High School students could expect the following:
Online learning from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., regular rotation schedule.
Teachers will post assignments and instructions on Google Classroom by 10:00 a.m., designed for students to work independently at their own pace or synchronously with the teacher present via Google Meet.
During their assigned teaching blocks, teachers will be available online to provide one-on-one support through email, Google Meet, or chat.
We recognize that not all families may be able to participate fully in online learning due to potential outages. Please prioritize your child’s well-being, and know that our counselors are available via email for support if needed.

The Learning Center invites you to watch the following book talk, specifically curated for Middle School
Common Sense Carpool Conversations - A podcast series that invites adults and kids to talk about the issues that matter most in kids' digital lives.
You don't have to be a tech expert to give your kid life lessons about digital well-being. The purpose of the podcast is to start discussions in fun, authentic ways and to encourage sharing (including for the adults).
The questions might lead to deeper discussions—or not! Either way, the goal is to nurture empathy, lead with curiosity, and have ongoing conversations that acknowledge we're all in this together.
Two truths and a lie about healthiest tech habits (Grades 6-8)
Throughout the year we will share some resources / quick reads that we believe would be of interest to our MS Families
